TiO2-Based Photocatalysis and Its Applications for Waste Water Treatment
Shen Weiren,Zhao Wenkuan,He Fei,Fang Youling
1998, 10 (04): 349- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

TiO2-based heterogeneous photocatalysis has the potential to degrade environmental pollutants by solar energy. The contaminants can be mineralized to CO2,H2O and other small molecules. The paper deals with the principle and mechanism of photocatalysis on TiO2, the ways for enhancing photocatalytic efficiency, and the methods and problems of TiO2photocatalysis for degradations of several typical contaminants. The recent developments in TiO2 photocatalysis and its application prospects for the treatment of waste water are introduced.

Formation and Properties of Silver Clusters
Peng Bixian,Cui Weidong,Zhao Xiang
1998, 10 (04): 362- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

This paper describes the methods to form silver clusters in solid, liquid and gas phases; the properties of clusters such as absorption bands, ESR, redox potential, EA and IP, and their catalytic behaviours in photo-splitting water and photographic development processes. The theoretical calculation methods, the calculated properties such as geometry, EA and IP of silver clusters are also discussed. The trends of research on this subject are prospected.

Wang Jianwei,Zhong Shunhe
1998, 10 (04): 374- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

The mechanism of CO2 adsorption and activation on metal catalyst and metal oxide catalyst and reaction performance of various adsorption states have been discussed. An effective way of using CO2 as a kind of mild oxidant in chemical processes has been presented.

Zhou Jicheng,Wang Xiangsheng
1998, 10 (04): 381- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

Recent developments in the applications and syntheses of titanium silicalite molecular sieves as a new kind of catalytic materials were reviewed, including developments of TS21 hydro thermal synthesis methods, raw materials, templating agents, affecting factors, TS21 synthesis by isomorphous replacement, charaterization, active sites, application softitanium silicalite catalytic oxidation system using hydrogen peroxide, and research of mesoporous titanium silicalite molecular sieves. Suggestions for further research were proposed.

Cleavage of Nucleic Acids by Lanthanides and Their Complexes
Zhu Bing,Zhao Daqing,Ni Jiazuan
1998, 10 (04): 395- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

Artificial nucleases are compounds that cleave nucleic acids and function as natural restriction enzymes with high activity and selectivity. They consist of nucleic acid recognition and catalytic scission systems, and can mimic the natural restriction enzymes by combining these two functions. This paper describes the cleavage of nucleic acids by lanthanides and their complexes and the acting mechanism.

Inorganic and Organometallic Hyperbranched Polynuclear Complexes
Wang Mei,He Ren
1998, 10 (04): 405- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

The recent advances in inorganic and organometallic dendritic polynuclear complexes at abroad have been reviewed. Emphasis is given to the description of synthetic methods, specific properties, catalytic reactions and the prospect of applications of inorganic and organometallic dendrimers.

Research on Structure, Photostability and Photodegradation Mechanism of AzoDyes
Zhan Haoqiang
1998, 10 (04): 415- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

The paper introduces the quantum chemical and experimental studies on the configuration, state of aggregation and crystal structure of azodyes. The structural effect on the photo stability, the photodegration mechanism of azodyes and the modern experimentation on laser flash photolysis and time resolved resonance Raman spectroscopy for the photodegradation mechanism of azodyes are reviewed.

Computer Modeling for Interaction of Ligands and Receptors and Their Applications in Drug Design
Jiang Hualiang,Hu Zengjian,Chen Jianzhong,Gu Jiande,Zhu Weiliang,Chen Kaixian,Ji Ruyun
1998, 10 (04): 427- |
Published: 24 November 1998
Abstract

The interaction of ligands with their receptor macromolecules are central to most of biological processes. Nowadays, there are accumulating evidences of that ligand-receptor interaction can be simulated with computer modeling and theoretical calculation methods. Some of these methods and their applications in drug design were reviewed in this paper.
