Wavelet Transform and Signal Processing in Analytical Chemistry
Shao Xueguang,Pang Chunyan,Sun Li
2000, 12 (03): 233- |
Published: 24 August 2000
Abstract
Basic theories, algorithms and applications of wavelet transform (WT)were described in this paper. The main characteristic of the WT is the dual localization property in both time domain and frequency domain, which enables WT to be a high performance signal processing technique. WT has been applied todenoising, data compression, and resolution of overlapping signals in analytical chemistry that includes flow injection analysis ( FIA ) , voltammetric analysis, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) , infrared ( IR ) spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy (M S) , nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR ) spectroscopy, ultraviolet visible (UV-Vis ) spectroscopy, photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) , extended Xray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectrum , etc.

Thermodynamics and Phase Equilibria of the Salt Lake Brine System at 25 ℃

2000, 12 (03): 255- |
Published: 24 August 2000
Abstract

The salt lakes on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau of China are famous for their high concentration of boron and lithium in brines. These brines mostly belong to the system Li+、Na+、K+、Mg2+(Ca2+)/Cl-,CO2-3(HCO-3)、SO2-4,borate-H2O (so called "Salt Lake Brine System") which is disserent from the classic sea water system and others. The phase diagram and solution properties of the salt lake brine system are obviously important for comprehensive utilization of brines and for investigation of the formation and evolution of Li, B-bearing salt lakes. Thermodynamics and phase equilibrium of the system are described with Pitzer ion interactio model of electrolyte solution. The prediction of phase equilibrium of the system Li+, K+, Mg2+/Cl-,SO2-4-H2O at 25C is taken as an example to illustrate applicability and reliability of the model.

Recent Advances in the Synthesis of Liquid Hydrocarbon via Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis
Dai Xiaoping,Yu Changchun,Shen Shikong*
2000, 12 (03): 268- |
Published: 24 August 2000
Abstract
Conversion of natural gas to liquid hydrocarbon (GTL ) via Fischer Tropsch synthesis (FTS) is one of the main trends in the use of natural gas. Some corporations, such as Shell, Sasol, Exxon and Syntroleum , have developed their patent techniques of GTL , respectively. The products from GTL include fuel oil, base oil for lubricant, and other chemicals, which are environmentally friendly due to its lower S, N,metal content and aromatic hydrocarbon. With the developing in syngas manufactu re, catalyst preparation and process design of FTS, GTL compete with the product ion route from crude oil in economy in remote, small ormedium sized gas field. The recent advances in catalysts and processesare reviewed, and the trend of GTL in the future is discussed. It's of great importance to develop the technique in China.
Review of Asymmetric Cyclopropanat ion of Olefins
Yao Xiaoquan,Chen Huilin,Zheng Zhuo*
2000, 12 (03): 282- |
Published: 24 August 2000
Abstract
In this article, the progress on asymmetric cyclopropanation of olefins during the last decade was reviewed. The application of chiral C2-symmetrical ligands in the reaction, such as bis2oxazoline and semicorrin, were discussed in detail. The new development of research on mechanism was in troduced. Some major difficulties in the industrial application of the reaction were summarized.
Effect of Organic Solvents on Enzymaticm Activity and Selectivity
Peng Lifeng
2000, 12 (03): 296- |
Published: 24 August 2000
Abstract
The structure and function of an enzyme in organic solvents are different from that in water. The enzymatic activity and selectivity in organic solvents can be improved by regulating strategies. The effects of solvents on the enzymatic activity and selectivity are mainly discussed and the thermodynamic model of predicting enzymatic selectivity is introduced.

Polymer Effects of Cyclodextr in Polymer
Wang Yongjian,Zhang Zhengpu,He Binglin
2000, 12 (03): 318- |
Published: 24 August 2000
Abstract
One of the most important properties of cyclodextrin is the ability to form inclusion complexes with numerous molecules that they take up in their central hydrophobic cavities. They are widely used in the fields of chrom atographic separation, selective catalysis, food, pharmaceutics and pesticides industries. Cyclodextrin polymers(CDP) are verified to have the abilities of inclusion, control release and catalysis and have good mechanical and chemical stability. They are now applied to the areas of chromatography, air purifying, and food industry. The polymer effects of cyclodextrin polymer , mainly including cooperation and neighboring effects are reviewed.
