Chemically Modified Oligonucleotides as Antisense Inhibitor of Gene Expression

Chen Yaoquan, Wang Zhengfu, Qu Fucheng

1994, 6 (01): 1- |
Published: 01 March 1994
Abstract

This review article describes the principles and mechanisms of antisense oligonucleotides (oligos)as inhibitor of gene expression;the critieria that oligo:; must meet as therapeutic agents of human disease;the chemically-modified oligos, their properties and the level which has been achieved in research and application.

Sequence-Specific DNA Cleaving Protein

Zhang Ruoheng, Wang Hong, Xu Xiaojie

1994, 6 (01): 14- |
Published: 01 March 1994
Abstract

Based on the sequence-specific DNA-binding protein and DNA cleaving agents, complex of a chelator and an appropriate metal ion,sequence-specific DNA cleaving proteins were designed and synthesized. The DNA cleaving agents were directed to DNA by attachment to a DNA-binding protein, and the resulting protein may be used as a sequence--specific DNA cleaving protein.

Progress in Chemical Research of Monoclonal Antibodies Labeling with Radionuclides

Liu Bin

1994, 6 (01): 26- |
Published: 01 March 1994
Abstract

The monoclonal antibody (MoAb) technique has been regarded as an encouraging and promising approach which may lead to exciting advances in both diagnosis and therapy of human cancer. This paper deals with the chemical aspects of the radiolabeling of MoAb. The selection of radionuclides to be used for diagnosis purpose and therapeutic use are elucidated. Both direct labeling methods, as well as indirect methods using the bifunctional chelating agent approach are coveyed. The techniques related to the protein modification i. e. the coupling of MoAb and chelator, the improvement of T/N ratio are also included.

The Trends of Studies on the Environmental Behavior and Eco-Toxicology of Exemplary Chemicals

Pang Shuwei, Xu Xiaobai

1994, 6 (01): 48- |
Published: 01 March 1994
Abstract

This paper reviews the current trends and developments of the studies on the environmental behaviors and eco-toxicology of exemplary chemicals abroad. The related up-to-date techniques, introduced new theory, latest ideas and the advanced risk assessment used in practice are with emphasis. The future of ecological researches at US EPA and the updating of DECD guidelines for testing of chemicals are recommended.

Reviews on Technical Routes for Chemicals Production from Carbide Acetylene

Xin Caifen, Qian Xinrong

1994, 6 (01): 62- |
Published: 01 March 1994
Abstract

This paper reviews the technical routes for chemicals production from carbide acetylene. Via technical and economical analysis,it is generally conceded that the longer range potential of acetylene as staring materials for the production of commodity chemicals is attractive, especially in some of the special regions which are abundant in coal, but lack of oil and natural gas.
