Review
Single-Chain Glasses and Single Crystals of Flexible Chain Polymers
Qian Renyuan,Wu Liheng
1996, 8 (03): 177- |
Published: 24 September 1996
Abstract

A review is presented on the methods of preparation of single-chain particles, including atomizer spraying, surface film spreading, freeze-drying of very dilute solutions and microemulsion polymerization. The properties of single-chain and pauci-chain polystyrene microspheres and recent results on the electron microscopy and selected area electron diffraction of single-chain monocrystals of polyethylene oxide, isotactic polystyrene, cis-1, 4-polybutadiene and guttapercha are presented and discussed.

Molecular Recognition in Chemica l and Biological Systems

1996, 8 (03): 213- |
Published: 24 September 1996
Abstract

The latest progress in the application of EXAFS spectroscopy in bioinorganic chemistry is reviewed. The fundamental method and information in the analysis of the interaction between the metalions and biological molecules by EXAFS spectroscopy are discussed in detail. Authors also expect the prospect in China and aboard in this research field.

Progress in Organic and Polymer Thin Film Electrolum inescent Devices
Qiu Yong,Gao Hongjin,Song Xinqi
1996, 8 (03): 221- |
Published: 24 September 1996
Abstract

Organic and polymer thin film electroluminescent devices have become a new and fascinating area of research in recent years. The advantages of organic materials over inorganic materials are high fluorescence efficiency, wide selection of emission colors and the ease in fabrication of large size films. In this review , the device structure and its preparation, electroluminescent mechanism , the selection of active materials have been introduced. Close attention has also been paid to the new trends in this field, the problem of device stability as well as the potential applications of the organic and polymer thin film electoluminescent devices.
