Progress in Bolaamphiphile
Lv Qing,Gong Haofei,Liu Minghua
2001, 13 (03): 161- |
Published: 24 May 2001
Abstract
The basic concept and the structural characters of bolaamphiphiles are described. The unique structures and properties of themonolayers at the air water interface and vesicles in solutions formed by the bolaamphiphiles are outlined. The applications of the bolaamphiphiles in catalysis, biomineralization, slow delivery of drug, membrane disruption and nanomaterials are discussed. The potential development of the research on bolaamphiphiles is prospected.
Abstract
The application of density functional theory (DFT ) to dealing with the excited states and multiplets of molecules is an important aspect in the development of DFT. The research in this field is continuously very active. The important progress on this subject in recent years is briefly reviewed in this article.

Fu Chengwu,Yao Tianming,Shi Xianfa
2001, 13 (03): 177- |
Published: 24 May 2001
Abstract
Processes of the proton, electron and light coupled transport across liquid membranes mediated by flowing carriers are reviewed. Their potential applications are also involved.
Advances in Catalytic Enant ioselective Reduction of Imines
Dai Xing,Qin Zhaohai
2001, 13 (03): 183- |
Published: 24 May 2001
Abstract
The catalytic enantio selective reduction of imines is a new active area in the research of asymmetric catalytic reactions. The development of this area since the reaction was first reported by Kagan in 1973 was reviewed.
Current Development in the Heterogenization of Homogeneous Catalysis——Fluorous Biphase System
Lu Fushen,Chao Jianping,Yang Chunyu
2001, 13 (03): 192- |
Published: 24 May 2001
Abstract
The FBS (fluorous biphase system ) makes homogeneous catalysis and heterogeneous separation possible and easy to separate the catalysts dissolved in PFC (perfluo rocarbons). Current developments in the chemistry of FBS and fluorous syntheses, including fluorous soluble ligands, catalysts and reagents are summarized. Numerous applications of FBS in hydroform ylation, hydroboration and other organic reactions are also discussed.

Published: 24 May 2001
Abstract
The recent advances in asymmetric autocatalysis are reviewed.
New Developments on Protease-Catalyzed Organic Syntheses
Yan Aixin,Tian Guiling,Ye Yunhua
2001, 13 (03): 203- |
Published: 24 May 2001
Abstract
Protease catalyzed peptide syntheses in organic solvents have been proved to be successful. In this article, some elemental concepts on the enzymatic syntheses are introduced and new strategies to broaden the use of protease in organic syntheses are reviewed.

Lv Jianquan,Chen Langxing,Guo Hongsheng,He Xiwen
2001, 13 (03): 209- |
Published: 24 May 2001
Abstract
This review describes research progress of functionalized calixarenes in recent years. The syntheses and supramolecular recognition ability are discussed.
Abstract
Metalloporphyrin as a sitesequence specific cleavage agent of nucleic acids plays an important role in the design of structural probes and therapeutic agents. Metalloporphyrins linked to the special groups (oligonucleo tides, peptides, acridine etc. ) can cleave the DNA in a sequence specific ways in the presence of oxidants, which will have apotential application in molecular biology. This article reviews the design, synthesis and oxidation properties of various metalloporphyrin related cleavage agents in recent years.
