Protein tyrosine kinases play an important role in signal transduction pathways in regulating a number of cellular functions. Tyrosine kinases are attractive as targets in the research of therapeutic agents, not only against cancer, but also against many other diseases. The progress in tyrosine kinase inhibitor has been reviewed, including the chemical structures and the pharmacophore models.
