Cleaner technologies for p roducing commodity organic chemicals are reviewed. These technologies are characterized either in obvious increase of the objective product selectivity to decrease pollutant discharge, or in making use of harmless or pollution free initial raw materials, catalysts and solvents. Trends of R&D in China Petrochemical Corporation are introduced in the paper.
