Molecular engineering studies the design and development of the products and the processes at molecular level. It is an active frontier in the field of chemical engineering. Its important foundation is the quantitative relations between molecular structure and thermody-namic properties, transport properties and reaction kinetics. To study those relations is the task of molecular thermodynamics, molecular transport phenomena and molecular reaction kinetics respectively. This paper discusses some of their progress.
