Quantum Chemistry Calculation Methods of the Intermolecular Interactions
Zhu Weiliang,Jiang Hualiang,Chen Kaixian,Ji Ruyun
1999, 11 (03): 247- |
Published: 24 September 1999
Abstract

The intermolecular interaction is of importance in chemistry, biology and materials science. Chemists, biologists, materials scientists now pay more attention to the experimental and theoretical investigations of this kind of interaction. In this review , the characteristics and features of the investigation for intermolecular in teractions were introduced, mainly focusing on three practical computational methods, and a perspective in this research field was also discussed.

Progress in Studies of Anodic Materials for Alkaline Water Electrolysis
Wang Peng,Yao Liguang,Wang Mingxian,Wu Weitao
1999, 11 (03): 254- |
Published: 24 September 1999
Abstract

The requisites for industrial electrode materials and some approaches in increasing anodic activity are reviewed . A series of anodic material swith oxygen evolution activity for alkaline water electrolysis are outlined. After analysing the correlations between physicochemical properties of different materials and their catalytic activities , the relationships between structure and property are discussed based on σ* and MO theories .

A New Method to Discover High-Affinity Ligands for Bio-Macromolecules: SAR-by-NMR
Ma Jinbiao,Wu Houming*
1999, 11 (03): 265- |
Published: 24 September 1999
Abstract

As most drugs work when they selectively bind to biological targets (e. g.proteins and nuclear acids) , to find highaffinity ligands f r a target molecule fast and effectually becomes the key step of various drugdiscovery methods. A new technique to discover highaffinity ligands for biomacromolecules, SAR-by-NMR, comes into being on the bases of high developments of modern biological and NMR technologies, which significantly accelerates the drug discovery and reduces the expenses. This method combines the advantages of many drug design methods and requires only short time to get lead compounds due to the use of NMR technologies. The essential principle of using SAR-by-NMR to find high-affinity ligands, its distinguishing features, and applications in drug discovery are reviewed in this paper.

The Coordinative Properties of Calixarenes with Metals
