Published: 24 September 2001
Abstract
Fabrication of molecular computer seems to be the only way to break through the limits of conventional semiconductor electronic computer. This review shows the recent development in the field of molecular computer, and emphases on the advance of DNA computer. Various and complicated computing mechanism of proteins in living cells of bio2orgaism , which may provide models for more speculation and new at tempt on the molecular computer, is also in our scope. 43 references were cited.
Advances in Liquid Crystal Lubrication
Wu Yusong,Dong Yanming**,Qiu Xingping
2001, 13 (05): 343- |
Published: 24 September 2001
Abstract
The advances in liquid crystal lubrication and liquid crystals as lubrication additives were reviewed in this paper. Recent theoretical studies and application results were discussed for two different kinds of liquid crystals—lyotropic liquid crystals and thermotropic liquid crystals. Their antifriction and antiwear mechanisms under different experimental conditions were illustrated. The lubrication functions of adding liquid crystals as lubrication additives in to some regular greases and synthetic oils were commented.

2001, 13 (05): 368- |
Published: 24 September 2001
Abstract
The advanced and creative research on metal complexes, which can recognize and react with DNA by intercalation, has been reviewed. All of these works provide a solid base and diverse strategies to carry out the design of small complexes that can bind and react at specific sequences of DNA.
Review on Catalysis Mechanism of Methane Monooxygenase
Chen Jianbo,Xia Chungu,Xin Jiaying,Cui Junru,Li Shuben
2001, 13 (05): 376- |
Published: 24 September 2001
Abstract
This paper presented the new results on catalysis reaction mechanism of methanemonooxy genase in recent years. Activation of the stable C—H bond of methane is thought to occur via either a radical rebound mechanism or a concerted in sertion of an oxygen atom. The studies using radical clock and quantum chemical calculations showed that there was not a consistent mechanism to clarify the reaction courses of methane monooxygenase. The type of mechanism may depend on source of methane monooxygenase or other factors. The spectro scopic analysis on the intermediates of methane monooxygenase accelerated the mechanism development of studies on methane monooxygenase.

Published: 24 September 2001
Abstract
Titano silicalite TS21 has at tracted more at tention due to its excellent catalytic properties in partial oxidation of organic compounds. The studies of the syn thesis of TS21 have become a hot spot in catalytic field. This article summarizes the advances in this field. The factors affecting on the physicochemical properties of TS21 are discussed, including the template, the titanium source, the silicon source, the base source and the crystallization conditions. The structure characteristics of TS21 have been reviewed.

Combinatorial Chemistry Used in Synthesizing Functional Materials
Sun Xiaolin,Hong Guangyan
2001, 13 (05): 398- |
Published: 24 September 2001
Abstract
Combinatorial Chemistry is the hot point in the fields of materials science and chemistry, which is first used in synthesizing new medicines. Soon this method is used in other fields, including synthesizing functional materials due to the short synthesizing cycle, big quantity of products, saving expenses and so on. There are many kinds of methods in combinatorial chemistry, which can be categorized into combinatorial chemistry in liquid and combinatorial chemistry in solid state by the reaction states, and the combinatorial chemistry in solid state can also be recategorized into binary mask method, quaternary mask method and movable shutter mask, etc. This review reports the combinatorial chemistry used in synthesizing functional materials.
