[Objective/Significance] In recent years, single cell technology has developed rapidly in China, and many breakthrough achievements have been made. A comprehensive understanding of the development trend of single cell technology in China can provide reference for the development layout and strategic planning of single cell technology in China. [Method/Process] Based on the research papers, patents and data of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in the field of single cell research from 2009 to 2019, the method of bibliometrics and fund analysis have been combined to detect the development status and trend of single cell research in China, in order to provide reference for researchers and management and decision-making departments. [Results/Conclusions] The results show that the number of papers and patents of single cell technology in China has absolute advantage, but the quality needs to be improved. The National Natural Science Foundation of China has given strong support to the research and development of single cell technology. Chinese enterprises are playing an increasingly important role in single cell technology research and development. Single cell technology has a broad application prospect, showing a trend of interdisciplinary development in the whole field. Single cell detection and analysis platform, single cell sequencing, tumor diagnosis and treatment, single cell gene expression regulation and so on are the hotspots of single cell technology research.
[Purpose/Significance] Metaverse may be the next generation of human society, and it is necessary for us to understand the research status of the metaverse in scientific research. [Method/Process] In this article, the scientometrics methods were applied to analyze the 123 metaverse related publications from the Web of Science Core Collection. [Results/Conclusions] The results demonstrate that although the discussion on the metaverse research has been going on more than 20 years, various statistical results show that the metaverse is still in its infancy stage, the output of metaverse is still in a low quantity, and the global distribution of metaverse research is not extensive. Virtual world, second life, three-dimensional, avatar, and immersion are the most active keywords in the metaverse research. The hot topics of the research show that virtual reality-related technologies are important elements in constructing the metaverse. Virtual reality technology has become a channel to connect the real world and the metaverse. At present, the highly influential papers of the metaverse mostly stay in the weaving of many possibilities of the metaverse, and the metaverse has not yet formed a systematic and recognized framework. We are still in the preliminary stage of the metaverse "Big Bang", which requires a rational and objective understanding of metaverse tide.
[Purpose/Significance] Doctoral education in Europe and US is highly developed and their models of PhD Education have great influence around the world. Their practice can inspire the training of outstanding innovative talents in our country. [Method/Process] By Literature study and website information collection, we briefly depicted the history of the PhD education, and compared the principles of doctoral dissertation assessment and the differences of the education models in China, Europe and US. [Results/Conclusions] It is found that the aims, quality requirements and training procedures in China are similar to those in Europe and US, however the outcomes, especially in the respect of innovation and creativity are not equally satisfied. Thus, the administrative and executive particulars of PhD training are compared to pursue the insights of leading reasons of the differences. By addressing the advantages of the European and US models, critical comments are given on the current PhD education in China.
[Objective/Significance] This paper aims to compare the distribution of COVID-19 research output in China and abroad, the characteristics of high-impact papers, and a phased analysis of China’s COVID-19 research hotspots. [Method/Process] Based on the COVID-19 data set of Dimensions, the regional distribution, publication type distribution, open access distribution and publication source distribution of COVID-19 research output in China and the world were analyzed and compared. We also analyzed the regional distribution, publication source distribution and research topics of papers with high academic influence and social concern in the world, VOSviewer and other tools were used to analyze the overall trend of the output of various types of COVID-19 scientific outputs in China over time, and to explore the changing trend of the research hotspots of COVID-19 journal articles at different time points. [Results/Conclusions] The global COVID-19 research output is mainly distributed in the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Italy and India, Open access types are the majority of COVID-19 publications. Preprint and academic journals shared the main responsibility of accelerating scientific research exchanges in the early and middle stages of the epidemic, but in the late stage of the epidemic, the number of preprint publications gradually decreased, while the number of academic journal articles continued to increase. Most of the COVID-19 papers with high academic impact are distributed in China. The research theme of these articles is to reveal the clinical characteristics, epidemiological characteristics, and treatment of COVID-19 through clinical samples. Most of the COVID-19 papers with high mentions are distributed in the United States and other countries. Most of the research topics are about the origin of COVID-19, the effectiveness of adding mask wearing in public health measures to prevent COVID-19 infection, the condemnation to the government leadership in the COVID-19 outbreak, aerosol transmission, and specific drugs for COVID-19. Finally, it is found that in different epidemic development stages, the number of different types of publications and the research hotspots of journal papers show a certain trend of change, which is worthy of further exploratory research.
[Objective/Significance] As an emerging technology, blockchain has now been highly valued by the political, business, and academic circles of various countries, and related research results have shown a spurt of growth. In order to provide reference for the innovation and development of blockchain technology in China, this article analyzes the research status and development trend of the blockchain field. [Method/Process] The paper adopts the method of bibliometrics, with the help of text mining tools and visual analysis software to quantitatively analyze the relevant literature in Web of Science and CNKI. In order to explore the development status and trends of the blockchain field, the article analyzes the relevant documents in the two databases from the perspectives of annual publication volume, main research institutions, main researchers, main publication journals, research hotspots and research frontiers. [Results/Conclusions] Research conclusions show that China has strong scientific research capabilities in the field of blockchain, and has a number of high-impact scientific research institutions. However, the cooperation network of Chinese institutions and authors is relatively sparse, and the application field of blockchain technology is single. In the future, it is necessary to actively expand the application scenarios of blockchain technology and strengthen cooperation at home and abroad.
[Objective/Significance] The paper aims to recognize highlight mathematic papers which gained breakthrough descriptions from peers in citing sentences in the past 10 years in China. [Method/Process] We used CiteOpinion platform to identify citation sentences, breakthrough descriptions, academic contributions, positive/negative citations, and some relevant indicators. We also analysed the statistic results of institution distributions and the discipline research directions of highlight papers. [Results/Conclusions] In the past 10 years, China has made some high-level academic achievements which were recognized by peers of Mathematics (breakthrough comment citing papers account for 0.53%). There is no linear relationship between the numbers of breakthrough-description citation papers and their citation numbers. From the view of mathematic research directions, the average number of breakthrough-description citation papers in application mathematics field is higher than that in basic mathematics field.
[Purpose/Significance] Through the study of the UK national intelligence work system, it can give us some enlightenments and references to the national intelligence work system construction. [Method/Process] The author deeply interprets the laws and regulations related to the UK national security and intelligence, deeply analyzes the UK intelligence agencies, and focuses on the construction of the UK national intelligence work system. [Results/Conclusions] To strengthen the national intelligence work system construction of China, we should strengthen the legal system construction of intelligence、the management and supervision mechanism of intelligence, pay attention to the construction of the intelligence talent team and the gradual openness of the intelligence、strengthen counterintelligence work.
