1997, 9 (04): 337- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

The research progress in supramolecular chemistry in recent years is reported. The results related to physical chemistry are described and discussed in aspects of chemicalthermodynamics, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, colloid and interface chemistry. The basic frame of supramolecular physical chemistry is also described.

Research Progress of Nanocrystalline Materials
Gong Xiong,Zhang Guilan,Tang Guoqing,Chen Wenju,Yang Hongxiu
1997, 9 (04): 349- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

The state of arts of the synthesis, structures, properties and applications of nanocrystalline materials are reviewed. N anocrystalline materials can be prepared by inert gas conden sation, mechanical alloying, plasma deposition, spray conversion processing, and many other methods. Its properties such as diffusion and sinterability, mechanical properties, ductilisation of ceramics and in termetallics, electrical properties, thermal expansion, optical properties, magnetic properties, catalytic properties, and corrosion behavior are superior to those of conventional po lycrystalline coarse grain materials. There is a great applications potential in the near future for nanocrystalline materials.

Present Situation and Prospects of Dielectric Study on Heterogeneous Systems
Zhao Kongshuang
1997, 9 (04): 361- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

Dielectric spectro scopymethod (DSM ) for studying chemistry systems with heterogeneous structure is an interdisciplinary area developed in recent 10 years. The method is very important in the studies for disperse systems, membranes and biological cells systems. This paper reviews the history and current research on the DSM for heterogeneous systems in both theoretical and practical aspects. In presenting the features of the method, the emphases are laid on the relation between the structures of heterogeneous systems and relaxation patterns with examples illustrated. The problems remained and recent progress are introduced, and some research aspects for further work are proposed.

Microcalorimetric Adsorption and Microkinetics of Heterogeneous Catalysis
Shen Jianyi
1997, 9 (04): 371- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

This paper introduces the technique of microcalorimetric adsorption and the microkinetics of heterogeneous catalysis and corresponding computer modeling. The importance of the microcalorimetric adsorption in quantitative determination of adsorption sites on surfaces and in performing the microkinetic analysis of heterogeneous catalysis is emphasized.

A Leap in the Synthesis of Zeolite and Molecular Sieve from Microporous to Mesoporous
Wang Xiaozhong,Dou Tao,Xiao Yongzhuang
1997, 9 (04): 379- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

The developments in the synthesis of zeolite and molecular sieve from microporous to mesoporous and the synthesis evolution of mesoporous molecular sieves were introduced. Some differences between microporous zeolites and mesoporous molecular sieves were compared, including the synthesis methods, mechanism and the particularity of templating.

The Progress in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Jiang Yi,LiWenzhao,Wang Shizhong
1997, 9 (04): 385- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) , fabricated on entire solid state structu re,possess several advantages over other types of fuel cells. The use of solid electrolyte eliminates corrosion and liquid electrolyte handle problem , and the high operating temperature makes fuel flexible. The rapid development of SOFC in recent years has demonstrated the great possibility for SOFC as a new technique both for centralized and decentralized power generation. The present review gives an introduction to the characteristics, working principal, cell structures and key materials related to solid oxide fuel cells. The status and trend of R&D in the field of SOFC both abroad and at home have been reviewed in details.

Zhao Shanrong,Jiang Hualiang,Liu Dongxiang,Chen Kaixian
1997, 9 (04): 405- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

This review describes genetic algorithm and its application in drug molecular design in recent years. Genetic algorithm is particularly fit for solving combinatorial optimization problems. It has a great potential in conformational searching of flexible molecules, pharm acophore elucidation, protein structure prediction, molecular docking, denovo drug design and combinatorial synthesis.

1997, 9 (04): 416- |
Published: 24 November 1997
Abstract

The current research progress in chiral drug separation by capillary electrophoresis is reviewed. The influence of experiment conditions on separation is discussed by equilibrium theory . The selections and applications of chiral selectors are also indicated.

Abstract

This article presents a survey of the projects in environmental chemistry funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in recent years. The progress in the fundamental research of environmental chemistry in China is discussed. Some comments and foresights are given on the prospects and priority research areas in the related fields.
