在21世纪即将来临之际，有机化学将面临生命科学、环境科学和材料科学越来越多的挑战。本文回顾了在分子识别指导下的有机分子的设计、合成和组装这个新领域的诞生和发展，认为这个领域将成为新世纪有机化学发展的一个重要方向。它的发展和应用不仅使得有机化学可能较好地面对新挑战，同时能推动有机合成化学自身的发展。

At the turn of the centuries.organic chemistry will be faced with more and more challenges from li:e sciences,environmental sciences and materials science. This article reviews the foundation and development of a new field in organic chemistry—the design，synthesis and assembly of organic molecules based on molecular recognition and points cut that this field will become an important direction for the development of organic chemistry in new era. The development and application of the concept of molecular recognition will not only make organic chemistry well meet its new challenges but also stimulate the development of organic synthetic chemistry itself.
