This paper conducts a bibliometric analysis of the papers published by AMSS, CAS in the past 20 years, and analyzes the aspects of output, academic impact, important achievements and collaboration, also comparing 20 universities and research institutes worldwide. This paper aims to reveal the scientific research strength and competitiveness of AMSS,CAS from aspect of bibliometric, and to provide reference for scientific research management and related departments.

Based on Orbit Questel Patents, the profiles of the thruster technology of underwater robot are analyzed from aspects of overall development trends, publication country and priority country geographic distributions, key technology fields, important patent applicants, etc., which provide a factual basis for the strategy of patent layout of related institutions in China.
