[Objective/Significance] This paper aims to reveal the development trend of China and its international competitiveness in this field, to diagnose the problems worthy of attention, and to provide references to policy formulation for Chinese government. [Method/Process] From a perspective of research output, this paper using bibliometric methods analyzes the following aspects for the field of Chemistry: overall output, highly cited papers, papers from important journals, international collaborations, funding papers, and distribution of subdisciplines, based on publications from Clarivate Analytics's Web of Science database. [Results/Conclusions] The results show that, China ranks first in Chemistry in the publication volume, academic impact and the output of highly cited papers, and shows a strong scale advantage in the above three aspects. However, there is still a gap in the efficiency of important output between China and the USA, and the gap is more obvious in the subdisciplines which require originality or interdiscipary research.

[Objective/Significance] The analysis of citation diffusion of the h-index pioneering paper is an important way to understand the research diffusion and impact of this innovative research. [Method/Process] The research raw data is from Web of Science, including 5,506 citing papers of "An index to quantify an individual's scientific research output" and 9,519 papers from Scientometrics, Journal of Informetrics and Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology. The scientometric methods have been applied to analyse the spatiotemporal characteristics, author distributions, research topics and citation impact of the collected data. [Results/Conclusions] The results demonstrate that the h-index paper have received high impact after it has published. The citation curve of the paper shows the linear trends, and it has been widely cited by 102 countries/regions and 3,922 institutions. In the macro level, the citing areas are mainly from "information science & library science" and "computer science, interdisciplinary applications". And at the micro level, the citing publications are mainly from four topic groups, including "h-index and citation analysis", "bibliometrics/scientometrics and knowledge map", "network analysis and altmetrics" and "journals evaluation and peer review". The further analysis shows that the h-index paper is one of the important research achievements in scientometrics area in the past 20 years and have become key intellectual base paper in scientometrics research.

[Objective/Significance] Intelligence and think tanks are closely related, and the research related to think tanks in the library and information science studies is increasing. The analysis and study of the development lineage, thematic evolution and scientific research communities distribution of the research on think tanks in the library and information science in China can provide insightful suggestions for theoretical approaches in intelligence to promote think tank research and think tank construction. [Method/Process] This paper uses SATI and CiteSpace bibliometric software to visually analyze 941 domestic articles related to think tank research in the library and information science included in CSSCI, sorting out keyword co-occurrence, keyword timeline, theme evolution path, author co-occurrence network and research institution co-occurrence network, and exploring their theme research hotspots, topic evolution process and research trends, and further analyze the key authors and scientific research communities. [Results/Conclusions] The hotspots of think tank research in the library and information science in China have developed from the study of foreign think tanks to the study of new type of think tanks with Chinese characteristics, and then to education reform, innovation-driven, and intelligence process, which reflects several development stages of think tank research in China, and reveals the evolution of think tanks in China from learning from foreign think tanks to new type of think tanks with Chinese characteristics, and then to high quality development think tanks. Currently, the research hotspots include the transformation of intelligence agencies that provide various kinds of intelligence to think tanks, the provision of intelligence services to think tanks based on big data, the participation of intelligence work in the construction of think tanks and the construction of library think tanks. This study proposes that theoretical approaches to intelligence should be introduced in think tank research and the technical capabilities of intelligence personnel should be enhanced in think tank construction.

[Objective/Significance] Scientific culture study has attracted more and more attention in the cross-science field, and has played a role in science education and science communication. A systematic analysis of the research status can provide references for scholars to carry out further research and contribute to developing science communication and education. [Method/Process] Based on international and domestic papers in WoS and CNKI database from 1960 to 2022, CiteSpace software is used to conduct a visual bibliometric analysis of the core documents under the theme of scientific culture from the aspects of publication trend, nation/region distribution, institution & author distribution and cooperation, keyword clustering and so on. [Results/Conclusions] We compare and find that: (1) The annual number of international papers has been increasing steadily, while the annual number of domestic papers fluctuates in relatively large margin. Research institutions from USA, Spain and England dominate the publications of international papers, while China ranks eighth. (2) Whether international or domestic cooperation among institutions & authors is relatively dispersed, and the core cooperative network has not yet been formed. (3) International and domestic papers have different research topics and emphases, International papers focus on science perception and understanding, science experience, science and life health, and the impact of science culture on S&T policy, etc. Domestic papers focus on the construction of scientific culture (such as the building of scientific view, the context of socialism and the influence of Chinese traditional culture), the integration of scientific culture and humanistic culture, the discourse system of scientific culture with Chinese characteristics, etc.
